Ganesh Chaturthi special recipe as you know ukadiche modaks are unavoidable during Ganpati festival To start ukdiche modak recipe to start with ingredients

Ingredients

o   1 teaspoon ghee (clarified butter)

o   1 teaspoon poppy seeds

o   half cup of grated fresh coconut

o   one fourth cup of jaggery

o   1 teaspoon cardamom powder

o   a cup of water

o   salt to taste

o   1 teaspoon ghee

o   half cup of rice flour.

Ukdiche Modaks are prepared in three steps:

·         First is preparing stuffing

·         Second is preparing its coating

·         Filling the stuffing in the cover and cooking the modak

 

For stuffing,

Now first heat Pan on medium heat and add one tsp ghee and a tsp poppy seeds to it and roast until it turns pink. add half cup of grated fresh coconut to the roasted poppy seeds and then roast this mixture on medium heat for about 2 to 3 minutes and then add Jaggery to it.

make a proportion of 1/4 cup of jaggery for the half cup of coconut you can change the quantity of jaggery according to your taste. and then mix the mixture well and took the mixture for 5 to 7 minutes so that coconut will get the sweet taste of jaggery and the mixture will be dry

after cooking this mixture for 5 to 7 minutes on low flame switch off the gas and add cardamom powder to it and lets mixture get cool here your stuffing is ready

 

For covering,

Heat water on medium heat add Salt ghee and let's boil the water then

turn off the heat and add the rice flour and mix well no lumps should be there

cover the pan and keep it for the five minutes take mixture in a plate and knead it into a dough

knead it while it is hot. if required, you can add a little bit of water while kneading. knead it until it becomes soft and Shiny take a small tennis ball size dough and roll it into small bowl.

 

For Filling the stuffing in the cover and cooking the modak,

Now add a stuffing into it and roll it into a shape of modak meanwhile take one inch water in idli cooker and bring it to boil after take a pot and put dish on it now put wet cloth on dish now put a modak on wet cloth and close the cooker and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes let's remove the lid and take out the modak out of the cooker and serve them to eat.
